Nicola Vruwink, Founder & CEO

As a life long maker, CEO and Founder of Poni, Nicola brings 20+ years of creative expertise to her clients. For her, creating is like breathing; a gift that was passed down from many generations of makers. Her creations have been exhibited and written about extensively including at the Seattle Art Museum, Palm Springs Museum, and Riverside Museum, and written about in the Los Angeles Times, Art Forum Magazine, Seattle Weekly and White Hot Magazine.

Though forever an Iowa girl at heart, Echo Park is now her home for more than 13 years where she resides in a century plus historic home with her pup Mouse.  Previously as Director of Recruitment for ArtCenter College of Design she mentored many creatives helping them turn their passions into careers. This mentoring continues as she is faculty at ArtCenter, Santa Monica College and El Camino College.

Previous clients, amongst others, include Grey’s Anatomy, Molly Sims, Oren & Cove, Zola NYC and recently her designs were prominently featured on Transparent and in their nationwide ad campaign.

Nicola’s gift is finding that creative spark and opportunity in everyone and everything.  She promises that, along with Poni, she will make your memories better.

Katie Buntsma, Creative Consultant

LA-based Art Producer and recent graduate, with honors, from Art Center College of Design, Katie brings on-point creative direction, clever insights and design solutions. Growing up in a rural Dutch town and getting crowned Tulip Queen of Orange City gave Katie a strong work ethic, love for craft and some handy-dandy waving skills.

When she's not on set or in the office producing advertisements for Lexus, 2K, EA, Ritz Carlton, Indian Motorcycles or one of her other clients, you'll find her running around Echo Park, trying to balance in warrior three and experimenting with cocktail concoctions. She loves bubble baths, pecan pie and reading books with a glass of rosé on overcast days.

Kimberly Faith Waid, Communications Director

A devoted storyteller and moment-maker, Kimberly believes every creative company has a story that connects us and informs the imprint we leave on the world. While she’s mostly a handler of words, she’s right at home with Poni as she grew up making customized chapbooks for her friends and family.

Now, Kimberly oversees communications and marketing to raise the visibility of Poni. Previously, she was the Director of Publicity for The Unchained Tour, a mobile live storytelling series from the founder of The Moth. She’s managed event series for the Tenement Museum and LMHQ working with Story Corps, Xo Group, This American Life, HBO, and NY Council for the Humanities, for starters. She's a graduate of NYU's Master in Creative Writing Program, Savannah College of Art and Design’s BFA in Media & Performing Arts Program, and has twice been a scholarship resident at the Vermont Studio Center.

Together with the Poni girls, she will reach you and yours on a personal level, inciting creative commitment and impact - let her find your sweet spot.
