I recently was tasked with creating a wall hanging to display kid's artwork in the playroom. Super cute playroom with a theme of black & white with accents of red. The space for the hanging was sizeable, above a built in bench and across from a giant and incredibly neon light that reads "happi-mess".
I wanted it to serve dual purposes; display the art and be itself a work of art. Summoning up my inner hippy chick and memories of girl scouts and summer camp, I designed a large loose macrame´wall hanging. Crafted using natural cotton fiber cord suspended between two giant wooden dowels (1 inch in diameter) that I painted black, it measures approximately 40" x 52" and fit perfectly in the space. The artwork will be hung on the cords using tiny white clothespins.
More than satisfied with how it turned out, now looking forward to seeing it installed festooned with the amazing children's artwork!
